The Self-Financing International Students’ Scheme provides facilities to those students who would like to fully finance their studies, stay and meet all other expenses by themselves.
Foreign students are required to apply directly to the university concerned, which would then issue a provisional admission letter, depending upon the eligibility. Based on the admission letter, a student visa is issued by the Consulate. No international student can be admitted to any university or college without a student’s visa. A valid residential permit in India, granted for studies is treated at par with a student’s visa.
Most of the public/private universities in India are open for foreign student registration. Students can browse their websites and download the application form. To be considered for enrollment of Indian Universities all documents have to be translated into English such as; birth certificate, diploma certificate, academic record, etc. and it should be send to the Foreign Students Registry by courier or submit it directly.
